As a child I always wanted to learn to knit and years later, I have finally started to learn. I never in a million years thought that it would be so stressful.
The first thing you do when you are beginning the knitting process is casting on! How many cast ons you do depends on your pattern. I am making a hat and my pattern called for you to cast on 56 times. There are a few different ways to do it and it took my a while to figure it out, but I soon became a pro. The whole time I was casting on I was thinking that knitting must be pretty east, I was doing this part okay…well…I was wrong. After I casted on I had to learn how to knit stitch and how to pearl stitch. It was so horribly confusing. After many knots and almost breaking down in tears, I started to get it….well I thought I did. I messed up and had to start over at least five times. I was about to throw in the knitting needles.
Well after having to restart about ten more times, I have finally started to get the hang of it. I am kind of figuring it out and it is going a lot smoother. My stitches may not always be perfect, but I have come a long way from when I started!
